The SSI Group, Inc. Achieves Maryland Electronic Health Network Certification

Mobile, Alabama, May 12, 2005 – Mobile, Alabama, May 10, 2005 – The SSI Group, Inc., (SSI), a leading provider of EDI revenue cycle management software for the healthcare industry, has achieved the status of Maryland Health Care Commission (MHCC) certified Electronic Health Network (EHN).

The goal of the MHCC EHN certification is to promote the adoption of electronic data interchange (EDI) in Maryland, through such activities as certification of EHNs like SSI. Specifically, the certification program is based on national standards and healthcare “best practices.” As part of the requirement for conducting EDI business in Maryland, healthcare insurance companies and HMOs can accept electronic transactions from only those EHNs accredited by the Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC) and certified by MHCC.

“We received EHNAC accreditation earlier in the year, and MHCC certification further demonstrates our capabilities as a healthcare EDI leader,” said SSI President and CEO Bobby Smith. “Based on Maryland’s strategy of promoting the adoption and use of electronic healthcare transactions, SSI’s ClickON technology can effectively provide the state’s healthcare community with the technology to submit electronic HIPAA transactions to payers.”

Automating the entire revenue cycle, ClickON technology enables processing tasks to be accomplished in less time by fewer people. Benefits derived from this seamless integration include eliminating the reformatting of electronic data, reducing redundant data entry and increasing data validation and reporting. SSI also offers an extensive payer offering with more than 800 available payers.
