SSI's Claims Status software is integral to the functionality of Accelerated Secondary Billing. It actually determines the payment status of Medicare claims by retrieving the Common Working File (CWF) from Medicare or any other payers that provide the HIPAA277 Claims Status transaction. This statusing capability provides unprecedented claim correction and change tracking capabilities, as well as facilitating an approximate eight to ten day collection advantage from secondary/supplemental insurances.
